Houston, we have a problem

We are so very sorry and would love to get your matches to you, however, gmail is not playing fair. We are working amongst ourselves to resolve the issues, but as it stands right now, some or all of you will not be getting matches tonight. Please, be patient. We don't like this anymore than you :)

Let me know if I can help. I had some trouble getting gmail configured correctly for outgoing a while back.

My initial trouble sending from gmail through an outside program (I use outlook but the settings apply to Outlook Express too)occurred when it wasn't configured quite right. If you go to the area where you input the pop and smtp servers, then "more settings", then "outgoing" the first box needs to be checked and the "use the same settings as incoming" radio button. Also trouble with the port setting can cause trouble. This is also located under "more settings" then "advanced" The boxes for secure connection should be checked and the ports should be 995 and 465.

Don't worry! I'm just glad to be participating at all. Besides, this gives me just the little bit of extra time I need to finish a project before I start working on things for my SP...

I think some people forget that it is international and subject to time delay with US being some considerable time behind UK!

I know how irritating it can be when software doesn't play ball. I'm supposed to be able to send faxes on my PC - can I cable!

Having wrestled with gmail and other email issues over and over again, I totally understand! You will let us know if we can do anything to help?

Hey, no worries. You guys are doing a great job.

Will you just post a note in the blog when gmail cooperates and you have sent out all the matches? That way if we didn't get ours yet, for whatever reason, we can let you know right away!

Thanks!
